My husband and I were in town visiting. We had some time to kill and came here for a visit. Since they close early during their "winter" hours, we only had an hour to spend, but it was lovely. We enjoyed walking around inside the...More

I love visiting the botanical gardens throughout the year! They do an amazing job with her presenting the different types of plants and botanicals. My favorite part, taking my three-year-old to the children's garden, where he can run play date and explore the different plants...More

The indoor gardens are wonderful and outside there are all sorts of gardens and walking paths. Such a peaceful place to spend a couple hours. We will definitely go back!

we stop by often to see what is new. The air smells like spring and feels balmy. Some of the plants change and some are old friends. Last spring our 5 year old granddaughter loved it, and spend her time looking at the displays and...More

As botanical gardens go, nothing too special. The green house conservatory was very nice but outside gardens were just ok. More rustic than formal. Not as nice as some botanical gardens in the mid-west (Chicago Botanical Garden vastly nicer)

We've gone walking on the trails here for many years. They wind through the woods and along the water. The scenery changes with each visit and season.

We visited on a day of on and off rain showers. Even when the sun was not bright, the flowers were a show. The gardens are well maintained by an enthusiastic and friendly corps of volunteers. The gardens focus on several types of gardens with...More

The garden is about 5 miles from the downtown area. Admission to the gardens was free. Because of that we didn't mind supporting them by buying a $25 t-shirt. Parking was easy in a lot close to the entrance. Parking was $1.60 per hour and...More

The conservatory has an impressive collection of exotic plants from all over the world. Don't miss the sausage tree. The bonsai collection is outstanding. The garden is free but they suggest a donation.

We often enjoyed visiting these botanical gardens when our kids at UM. Now we like our visits here to introduce our grandson to the many varieties of plants from around the world. On an especially cold or rainy day outside, a stroll indoors seeing the...More

There are a number of hotels and motel in the area, yes. Since I am relatively local to the attraction (45 minutes) I have no recommendations. You could use almost any good online hotel finder/booking site for options and... More
