To be honest we didn't go inside this church on this whistlestop tour of the Lakes and Mountains tour from Salzburg. Some of our entourage went inside and reported it was worth a visit (although they were only in there for 5 minutes). It was snowing and we chose to take the short walk down to the lake next to... We went on a Wednesday in advent and the church was one of the few places that was lit up. It was very impressive inside. The town was lit only by candlelight as they turn the lights off in advent every Wednesday evening.

It is a nice church in the center of this town and it is also nice to see, even if inside due to the gothic windows a bit dark. The best views in town to the lake.

The Church located in the middle city St. Wolfgangsee beside the Lake, it's one oldest Church in Europe but very nice free entry, there you get fantastic views of St. Wolfgang lake !

This is a compact church which is quite atmospheric. Some splendid if slightly over the top ornamentation.

Whether it is a hot day or not, get away from the maddening crowd and enjoy the peace and quiet. The cloister overlooking the lake is an excellent place to contemplate why we are here and enjoy the spectacle of mother nature. Just let your mind go blank, sit back and enjoy

This is one of the most beautiful churches I have visited in Austria. The interior is magnificent and the place has that beautiful musty church smell. You are not allowed to take photos and the reason was obvious when I was there. In the front half of the church a service was being held. It is also a great place... More

The church is simply sumptous, expecially if you consider that the others in the Salzkammergut region are not. It contains the Michael Pacher altar (this is the name of the author): this a masterful example of the Tyrolese marquetry art: and fortunately it was not destroyed to get the room for a second altar (the Schwanthaler´s one): in fact currently...
