I really wanted the money I paid to tour a floating village to go to support the local people and that is just what this company does. We had an absolutely wonderful day and Paren, our guide, was brilliant. We learned so much about the community of Kompong Khleang and even visited the village school.

Our family of 4 was hosted by Saro today. He was a great ambassador for his community and Cambodia. It was great to see a totally different side to Cambodian life. We feel glad we are able to support, in a small way, the work the organisation is doing with the school and other community projects.

We had an incredible, authentic, and fun day visiting this floating village that is off the beaten path and removed from all the other tourists is Siem Reap. Our guide Saro, who is from the floating village, was very kind, knowledgeable, professional, accommodating, and a safe driver. We visited the community nonprofit school that the Bridge of Life organization founded, walked through part of the village that’s on land, and took a boat around the park of the floating village that is on water. We were the only tourists, which made this extra special. It was clear that Saro is passionate about helping his community and that the funds from the tour support the local people. They’ve funded housing projects, built water wells, etc. We also stopped for local snacks (bamboo sticky rice, mini donuts, and dried jackfruit) along the way which were delicious! Would highly recommend this to anyone who’s looking for a memorable and unique experience!

We had the great opportunity to have a tour in the afternoon guided by Saro. He showed us his home village passionately and answered every possible question that came up to our head during the day. It was all in all really overwhelming and impressive. We can definitely recommend this tour especially if you are looking for an experience that not only shows your the reality but also has an impact for the people who lives at the floating villages in therms of many different projects from the organization. So a highly recommendation from the heart!

Great tour guide in Choub. Well organised and picked up easily. Great and comfortable journey, stopping off at a temple on the way. Great and interesting information from Choub. Boat ride brilliant and floating village so interesting! Met some delightful children to chat to. Great day and would recommend!

We did a lot of research on what village to visit, and stumbled upon a lot of bad reviews of scams in Chong Kneas etc. Kompong Khleang is more remote but definitely worth the longer drive! No scams to be seen, just genuinely nice people going about their business and day to day life. The tour guides were all raised in the village, so have intimate knowledge of the people and lifestyle. We got some lovely local baked goods and sticky rice as well. We visited the pagoda, the school that this NGO helped fund (again, no request to pay extra money, just heartfelt explanations what we were contributing to by taking the tour), and watched the sunset on the lake. All in all this was a truly wonderful experience. Thank you so much to everyone from the organisation!

I did quite a bit of research on tours of the floating village and the lake, and I am so happy I chose this one. It was a great experience from start to finish.
Plus, proceeds go toward the education of children that live in the village.

Saro showed us around Kompong Khleang, informing all the while about the difficulties and advantages of life on the water. Their Bridge of Life school get's a special mention and highlights the important role the organisation plays in the community. Sticky rice and doughnuts to start things off was a real treat of course! Saro was lovely, ever helpful and informative as well as having a laugh with us. Can't recommend the tour highly enough.

Hands down this is a great opportunity to view a different part of Cambodian life. Our guide, Paren, lived in this village as a child and now runs tours that support the local school. So by choosing them you are 100% contributing to the well being of this village. He was very enjoyable and we really appreciated his perspective. Pick up at hotel was fantastic- big, air conditioned Mercedes van. We stopped and got sticky bamboo rice sticks and donuts along the way. We learned about the life, saw the school, and took a long boat out into the lake. Highly recommend this tour as there is nothing like it that I’ve ever seen.

We were really impressed with the tour and happy to get so many insights into the community life. Our guide who grew up in Kompong Khleang provided us with many information and stories from his past. Additionally, it is nice to see what the Ngo was able to achieve (building houses, providing glasses, etc.) in so little time.

Another great extra was the food we tried, especially the sticky rice bamboo cakes!

Overall, the Community first project, in my opinion, offers a great value for tourists but also for the villages. It approaches tourism in a respectful and responsible manner. This is definitely a great advantage when compared with other tours. That's why I'd highly recommend this tour.
