Under the recommendation of a friend, I booked a tour with Happy Angkor Wat Tour. After a bit of back and forth, I decided on doing the two day tour with Sunrise. It was well worth the journey to get to Angkor Wat. My guide, Borey, made it an incredibly enjoyable journey by shuttling me between the temples safely, showing me all of the sights while teaching me of all of the interesting tidbits of history (how it was built, the stories and religions they were meant to represent, why certain things were missing, and so much more).
I cannot stress how good Borey was. He was so incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and thoughtful. A vivid storyteller, a resposible guide looking out for you, and a funny guy to boot.
Last but not least, the Sunrise is worth all the pain and effort to get up at whatever crazy hour it may be at. It's a truly gorgeous sight that I personally will never forget (though I was told I was very lucky that it was unusually clear sky).
