We spent a great afternoon at Ben's cooking class! Particular highlights were the visit of the market, which was definitely not a common tourist attraction in Siem Reap and provided us with a look into the local way of life. I was also delighted to find out how to prepare a good amok, definitely my favourite out of the Cambodian... More

The class had 6 students We attempted to cook our own lunch - 3 course meal We had hands-on experience in making our own curry paste from scratch using the old fashion granite pounder. We also had the opportunity to visit a local family nearby to learn about their livelihood and food that they commonly cook for meals. My teenage... More

I made an inquiry on Dec 30 and got an email confirmation from Ben on Jan 2 for the morning class of Jan 6, our 1st day in Siem Reap and a 730 am pickup for our group of 4 from our hotel. After waiting for more than 30 mins, I asked the reception clerk to give him a call... More

You don't need experience to have a great time socializing and learning about Cambodia, its people and food. Plus the proceeds go to a great cause. Ben is an inspiration for doing for others in need inspire of limited means.

This course for me embodies Cambodia - the wonderful flavours in the food coupled with the humbling human spirit. We were collected from our hotel in an air conditioned van and taken, together with the other participants, to a local market. Forget the market in Siem Reap - this is something else - heralding from almost medieval working conditions -... More

We really enjoyed the cooking class with Ben! We were lucky as the two of us were the only ones in the class. Ben showed us around on the local market which was really interesting and a one of a kind experience. The cooking itself was also great, even though it requires some handcrafting skills to get a master degree... More

Pros: Ben is a very nice guy. He gave us really great info about the Cambodian culture. I loved the tour through the market. It was fantastic. I like that he worked with someone in the group on a separate dish because she is vegetarian. That was very nice and considerate. Cons: Both me and my husband attended. At the... More

I have thought long and hard as to how to write this review because I want to be objective and fair since my gf is also a cooking teacher in Hong Kong but her differences are that she loves cooking whether she has guests or not and one of her passions is to share her wealth of knowledge. The money... More

We had a lot of fun learning how to make traditional Khmer cuisine with Mr Ben. We started the tour with a trip to the local market, where Ben took us through typical ingredients which you can find, as well as other fun facts (I never knew that the majority of Cambodians are allergic to duck meat!). Ben's English is... More

This class was a highlight of our visit to Siem Reap. Ben and two local cooks took us through the basics of making a delicious banana blossom salad, chicken amok and a pumpkin custard dessert. We started in a market and finished in a rural open air kitchen. It was authentic and delicious. Thanks Ben!
