although I would recommend doing this do not expect something from by gone days, I would now guess that most of the villages income comes from tourists and not fishing

The tuk tuk cost $15 us the boat cost $30 us and then I found out you could catch a water taxi for $6 so don't let them tell you that you have to take a boat .the trip was ok was supposed to see the school but all we did was the floating market which was pretty average and... More

This was an extremely interesting and eye-opening experience. Yes they are poor. But pay attention..........they are also happy. Their lifestyle is fascinating. I've read a number of reviews that describe a terrible experience. I think this is the result of tourists who hire "fly by night" tour operators......such as tuk-tuk drivers on the street in front of their hotels. YOU... More

This was probably one of the most humbling experiences i’ve ever had the honor of being apart of. For $35 TOTAL - you can have a tour with an incredible non profit that helps fund the Bridge of Life School. This is truly the most unique and authentic experience you can find. It really sucks the struggles that politics play... More

A must to see after the temples, in my opinion. We visited the village and paddled around the mangroves in torrential rain and still thought it was amazing. There was no tourist harassment and trying to sell us things. It seems that villagers barely noticed we were there, except perhaps children who waved and called 'hello'. It was an eye... More

If you want to enriche your stay in Siem Reap and see how people really live you should not miss undertaking a ride on the Tonle Sap Lake visiting one of the floating villages. I recommend to visit the Meychrey Floating Village, which is not yet so overcrowded as the two other villages and you are not bothered there by... More

Our touk touk driver took us to the floating village. The tour was really nice. It lasts approximately 2 hours. We were a bit surprised by the price. We payed 23$ per person.

From our point of view it was just far too expensive. The charged 20 Dollar by Person for the Boat tour, no way round no negotiations. Then when you arrive at the village you can go on a small ride with people from the village on a small boat. This extra charged on top... We want to share the big... More

Meychrey is a floating village. Meaning that the houses are on rafts that float on the river and edge of Ton Le Sap lake. Such villages have their own community and there are shops (markets) and schools. A living seems to be made from fishing. Some may find this way of life confronting - waste flows freely into the fresh... More
