The colour of this temple and the intricate, detailed carvings makes it stand out from the rest. We went in afternoon about 2.45pm and it wasn't quite so crowded, but there were still a fair few tourist groups. Like others I found this detracted from the serenity of this temple and wished there had been the opportunity to see it... More

Deep red sandstone greets you at this lovely little temple a little way out. The wonderful carvings which are in such good condition make this another unique temple. The three towers because of their colour stand out more than the larger temples. As other people have mentioned try and find a quiet part of the day to visit.

Go early if you want to avoid the crowds. Our tuk tuk driver picked us up at 6am for the trip out to Banteay Srei. I actually enjoyed the early morning tuk tuk ride almost as much as Banteay Srei itself. Watching the red sun rise, watching villages come to life and all the kids on bikes and on back... More

A real ruined temple, it is a real shame that the temples have fallen into such a state, you can only imagine what it must have been like all those centuries ago.

This miniature temple north from main Angkor attractions definitely worth a visit! Tip: try schedule your arrival as early as you can - may be before 7:30 am since by 8 am the place was already crowded by large groups of Chinese tourists who made lines to picture themselves in each doorway of the temple, giving us hard times to... Smaller by comparison to other temples, the carvings are so decorative and so interesting to catch Vishnu and Shiva and try to get a perspective into the past.

Banteay Srei is a 10th Century temple dedicated to the Hindu God Shiva. It is built of red sandstone which made it easier for the artisan to carve the gorgeous depictions which are still easily observable. It is called the jewel of Khmer art. The site consists of three concentric rectangular enclosures. The innermost enclosure is the sanctuary which has... More

Of all the Angkor temples, this one is not to be missed for its well preserved and Depp carvings. They've withstood aging very well. However, the temple is small and the tourists are many, making it difficult to get good photos or even to move through it at a leisurely pace.

Thoroughly enjoyed our walk through this beautiful temple. So well preserved and the attention to detail was beyond our expectations.

We visited Banteay Srei around 10am in the morning and were overwhelmed by bus loads of tourists. Visiting this temple used to be a delightful experience because it is in a beautiful setting, and the stone carvings are magnificent. Now, you can't stand still without being jostled by others. Very disappointing.
