If you go to Arica, you must go here. If you can go during the day AND night. The contrast is amazing. It's a cast iron church, and resonates like you think it would. Home to some birds, and amazing frescoes (12 stations are beautiful)....More

We were lucky to have a chance to visit this rather quaint little church during a recent cruise stop in Arica. It is an easy walk from the cruise port, a pleasant stroll through a palm lined plaza with local vendors selling this and that....More

This was the most lovely of buildings. The walk up to it is so pretty through a plazza. And then to enter this church. I loved it.

Built in prefab form and designed by Eiffel - he of the tower in Paris and the Statue of Liberty in New York. Unusual and striking; designed to withstand the frequent earthquakes which destroyed predecessors.

Church looked great but was boarded off for works so couldnt see the entire outsides, or go inside. Maybe would be worth higher score if I could have seen more

This church was under renovations the first 3 times we were in Arica (Oct. 2015, Feb. 2016 and Sept. 2016) but this time it was open and looks beautiful.

Unfortunately when we visited could not go in due to a renovation project, but the history of the Church is fascinating, Eiffel designed it to withstand earthquakes , it is very pretty.
