While there is not as much to see and do as other attractions, it is my favorite place in all of Shenzhen, and a great place for the evening and dinner. After dark is best for the light show.

The first thing people notice are the mini Louvre style building where the tourism office is located and the water fountain walkway in front when children like to cavort through the cascading waters. They also have steel tree like structures. There are several pubs and restaurants which are popular in the evenings. We arrived at 1030 am on a Sundayand,... More

Expecting only a lazy walk along the bay once we came out of the Shenzhen metro we were delighted to find that having enjoyed our stroll among all the people on bikes we ended up at a multiplex and a large public square where people were enjoying the warm afternoon with singing, dancing, street theatre and eating ice cream. This place offers many shops, restaurants, bars, awesome views and entertainment. You're never short for choice here and it looks great at night also. I went there during a national holiday so it was slightly quieter but was assured by friends that it get's very lively at weekends. Must See.

Large built up area with exhibitions, a riverside sanctuary with countless restaurants, cafes and a wide area for kids to play and run around - excellent location for families and business lunch/dinner! Surprisingly well maintained for Chinese standards.

This is a compound by the sea that has restaurants, bars and some stores. Its a few block long and wide. There are lots of people but its not as crowded as a lot of other places in Shenzhen. There are no cars in the compound which makes it much more relaxed to stroll around. You get there by Subway... More

Amazingly I was there in NOvember and it felt warm) Really loved the scenery and the boats on the bay! There are so many white building and ports surround the OCT area, it was very nice to be there) Hotels, restaurants, and even entertainment districts are there, have fun exploring!

its a build up place, not very cultural.. the prices are very expensive, the service is poor, can be very loud at the weekend... The only good thing is there are couple of live music bars performing blues and jazz and i highly recommend ...

The two hotels in the area are both excellent. You can basically stay in the area for a day and you will be well entertained.
