I was quite excited to see this section if the Great Wall. It's reasonably priced. The Wall has been restored so everything around is clean and looks almost brand new. There are many great places for photos. Just to the south there is a temple...More

Laolongtao is the starting point of the Eastern Great Wall. This scenic area is a great place to rest for a short trip over a weekend.

I was not really impressed by the whole sight. The scenery is not so impressive as I imagined and people mentioned it. Maybe I came with wrong impressions. Anyway, you can visit the sight from Beijing on one day. 1. Book train tickets 2-3 days...More

This is end of the Great Wall, place must see if you're travelling to the northern part of China. After this, then go to the beginning of the Great Wall at Ginsu.

See the beginning of the Great Wall of China is certainly an experience. It's worth a visit. Unfortunately there is only a small piece of the wall and on discontinued and not see hers right monumental size.

This is a really special part of the wall, and really worth taking the time to visit. We were delighted to be there with very few other visitors. We could have a relaxed look around, and take great photos. We caught a high speed train...More

It is so easy to get the bus from the West Gate to Dragons Head and people are so friendly, that I did not consider a guide. It is only about 30 min ride on the bus and a short walk - just follow the crowd. It is a bit of a... More

hi! I had a question. I know you can hike between laolongtou and shanhaiguan. I read it's only 3 miles but can take 8 to 10 hours. Are there stops along the way where you can take a bus in either direction? I was hoping to hike from Loalongtou for about 2 or 3 hours and take a bus to shanhaiguan or Qinhuangdao? Thank you!
