We were disappointed when we arrived at the museum, as it was closed for redecoration, but the annex to the main building had some interesting displays. My interest is mainly in the Neolithic period and it was uncanny how the stone tools were so similar to the ones found in Europe and UK. I wouldn't have thought there would be... More

The entry is free, they have nice artifacts from the middle ages, but it isn't too big. The main museum is under renovation and would be good once it opens.

This is an interesting museum, but nothing too special. 15 minutes and you're done, so worth visiting when you're passing, but less for a special trip

I disagree with people who say there is not much to do in Zhengzhou. It is a fast developing city, with lots of lovely corners, very good 21st century shopping, and a great tea market. It even has some spots where you can get a good Western meal. This museum is quite impressive, though not very big.

The Henan Museum was small but never the less very interesting. There were some very interesting artefacts on display and these were accompanied by well written description banners in English.

I just went to the museum but unfortunately the main building is closed until late 2016. They have set-up a small building for you to visit, I hired a guide and felt the extra knowledge was worth the cost. the guides either speak English or Chinese. This smaller building only had a handful of items compared to there monster 5000... More

It's closed. Doesn't say it on the website. Phone number is disabled as well. Roads around it all under renovation as well. Very hard to arrive here by taxi as cars cannot get through to the entrance. Trekked through the snow to get here. No signs telling us what happened or when it closed or when it will reopen. Very... For anyone interested in chinese art, history, culture etc this superb museum is a must visit. The quality of the exhibits is superb and the display at the high end of the sometimes variable quality of chinese museums
