This ancient temple is right in front of the wharf where our cruise ship docked. As we were rushing for the second part of our guided tour, we managed to snapped some pictures on the temple doorstep. At Xiling Gorges ,we disembarked to visit an ancient worship place. Huangling Temple was built to honour 'flood control' deity , Da Yu . The temple was restored , rebuild , refurbished and repaired many times over 2500 years.The last facelift was during the Ming dynasty. We climbed the 36 steps to the temple gate. This temple was just outside where our cruise boat docked. We went inside for a quick visit. Nice but not a spectacular temple.
