We were surprised to find this temple is free to visit, but I don't think it is open every day. We arrived at 15.30 after visiting the nearby (and very good) silk museum intending just to view it externally. But it was free to visit and closed at 16.00 so we were lucky. Another spot where you can take in the history, traditions, beauty of chinese culture. Attention to detail is perfected in these gardens.

Beisita is the tallest pagoda south of the Yangtze river. For people with a special interest in temples, it is worth visiting, but if you have a limited time in Suzhou, viewing it from outside the temple grounds is sufficient.
