It is smaller than most famous one BaoTu spring, but means not crowed. Free entrance and gather water is allowable, even the city have self-contained water system, but locals especially old peoples still prefer gather spring for daily use.

The central attraction is the pool, with three stone-carved tiger heads gushing spring water into the pool. The water is crystal clear, with some fishes in it. It is an interesting sight observing the locals using various containers to gather water for their daily use. Though this is one of the more popular springs in Jinan, there aren’t many tourists... This is located beside the Spring city park. Many locals went there to get water. It is a very simple park and it is free.

We stayed at Home Inn Baotuquan right in the central area of Jinan. After check-in, we went to Quancheng City Square for a stroll and had our dinner. After the dinner, we strolled along the moat beside the Quancheng Square and found ourselves right in the middle of a number of springs and one of them is the famous Black... More

To see it at it's best you need to be there on a Sunday morning when all the locals and not so locals come to use this community area and to take home thir spring water in large plastic water... I went here with my dad, the moat goes around the whole city, however, ehihu - black tiger springs is an exceptional part of the moat, you will see local people actually using buckets and tea pots to get spring water and bring it back home or to their local businesses, the walk itself around there is lovely and especially... As xingming has said the riverside walk starts from the north east corner of Spring City Square. It is best at first to walk on the south side of the... More
