We recently visited the "mud volcano" and we had a great time.A couple of the girls in our group were reluctant at first but after we were in and floating around it was a great time to be had. The two were glad that they...More

Surprising, one time violent but now accesible. Every body should visit once in life an active or inactive volcano... and finally inform himself how important they were or are to our planet preservation...

As you climb down the ladder into the mud, you have no idea what to expect. It looks like the mortar used in masonry construction. When you step off, it is as I imagine quicksand must be. You can’t swim, you move slowly, and the...More

This was an interesting experience that I was glad I did. That being said, it is far from Cartagena and it is extremely confusing if you do not speak Spanish perfectly. Make sure you bring lots of small bills everyone is paid separately and no...More

expected more from this mud volcano. the climb was very crude and not safe. Very simple for the cost 10,000 pesos for you just to get in and get mud on you. To wash up you have to walk to the lagoon to clean up...More

This experience is almost indesccribable. You must Climb rather steep steps to the top of this volcano without your shoes, glasses, camera, phone, or towel. At the top, there is a ladder into the warm mud center, where you join approximately 15 other people. Men...More

This place is interesting to say the least and definitely worth the 50,000 pesos for the trip. The ride out to the volcano can be quite long. We opted for the half day trip that left at 1:30 instead of the full day that included...More

The very last thing I did on my trip to Colombia was a trip to Totumo, and it was also one of the most memorable experiences I had. I booked a tour with Cartagena Connections, who arranged everything perfectly. I'll focus more on the experience,...More

Not sure of taxi cost. We took organized tour. guess would be $25-50US roundtrip depending on your negotiating skills. Ask 5 different taxis before agreeing to anyone and you'll get a good gauge of the cost. Taxis are... More

The volcano is in a far away remote location, and there is no modern facilities or lockers there at all. The only real way to get there is by a tour bus, even trying to drive there would be virtually impossible to find!
