Small but full of gems

Small but full of gems. Free entry. Good record of history, not just gold work. Located centrally. Can be done in 30 minutes - worth making time.

We toured this free museum and enjoyed it. There are exhibits on the pre-columbian people and gold objects. You can learn a little about the native peoples and their lives.

A small museum but interestingly set out and worth a visit. It contains a good variety of gold items from past cultures and shows the wealth of Colombia in times gone by.

The content of this museum is good, but I couldn't help wondering if it might be better for it to charge an entrance fee and put the money toward maintenance. We visited on a day on which a cruise ship was in town, so it was very crowded and somewhat hard to see some of the displays.

This museum show a lot about the local history of Columbia. the gold objects are exquisite. But there is a lot more about the history of Columbia in this museum than just the pre Columbian gold. It is not a large museum and is a nice stop while visiting Cartagena.

Only a few rooms (6 or so) with displays in Spanish and English. The gold and pottery were good examples and nicely displayed/maintained, but descriptions were simple. I didn't feel like a got a sense of ancient culture or context.

Having been to the Gold Museum in Bogota I wad uncertain of what this would be like. There were some nice exhibits some very similar to those in Bogota. It's a nice little museum with some nice exhibits. ....and it's free!
