Nice park, but I would not recommend going there, unless you want to eat at the In Situ restaurant, which is supposed to be good. We wanted to eat there, but it turned out to be closed due to a private happening. The Botanical Garden is somewhat ironic, because in and around Medellin, you can find all the beautiful plants and trees that are in the park. The park itself was pretty busy and the route toward the park goes through less nice neighbourhoods. It is OK, but certainly not one of the things you must do when in Medellin.

This is truly a beautiful and amazing place. Lots of different birds and lush vegetation and a good place to eat inside the gardens!

This botanic garden is perfect to get away from the hassle of the busy town. There are different areas that invite you to stroll around and the garden is well - maintained!
In comparison with other gardens, I felt that variety and information regarding the plants are missing. Providing a QR code for additional information is helpless for people who are without smart phones.
Nevertheless, the entrance is free, and the staff was very friendly!

I liked that it was part zoo and part garden. I think that might be where some of the reviewers are getting lost in the sauce because when you first get in it does indeed feel more like you're in a zoo. Honestly I would say that eventually it felt more like I was just in a city park which is actually quite okay with me. Even though we were right in the middle of a city of 4 million it was a quiet little refuge.

Now if you're reading this and you're an American I will say I found the area surrounding this place to be a bit seedy but nothing awful happened. I just ended up buying tamales 😅

Beautiful dining area--a protected garden environment. Fantastic cocktails and wine. Very good service. We ordered a selection of appetizers that were creative and tasty.

In this world-class city for the commercial flower business, Medellin's botanical garden is a showcase of Columbia's massive biodiversity.

Iguanas are enormous, the jungle area good but not much else. Nice space but over rated. Could not find the area where the frogs were housed.

I happened to visit during the Fiesta Del Libro Y La Cultura. It was wonderful to see so many book venders, authors, informational panels, and interactive sessions. The gardens themselves are nice. Definitely a smaller garden without a wide vary of plants, unlike other gardens I've visited. But admission is free and it's a great place to spend an hour or two.
