This is ground zero, downtown Medillin. It's chaotic, noisy and edgy. Hang on to your bags and camera. Don't flash a big SLR; you might not have it for long. Take photos with your phone and put it away. Medillin is Botero's hometown and he...More

Botero is not only Colombia's most famous artist, he was also responsible for transforming the country's culture. His generous donations of sculptures are now a major source of pride and inspiration for so many people. The sculptures are massive and magnificent. This is a beautiful...More

Free attraction in downtown Medellin. Lots of photo opportunities with these somewhat risque yet artistic sculptures that are particular to Colombia. Be aware that you will be solicited by all kinds of street souvenir sellers, as the place is obviously touristy. Worth a visit.

Love the Botero Sculptures. They are unlike the usual fare of park statues and monuments and add a bit of humour to your day. Fun photo ops and easy free activity.

Definitely one of the more interesting Plaza Art you will see anywhere. Not much else to go Downtown for except the Museum but I enjoyed it immensely.

The statues here are so cool. I would recommend getting a tour guide if you don't speak spanish so they can explain the stories. It is well worth the few dollars it costs :)

Few people speak English in Medellin, or Colombia for that matter. One of the telecomms, UNE, sells USB wireless keys to access the Internet. When I checked last year, the key cost COP 50,000 and access was COP60,000/month.
