Having the beach to ourselves after a night in the hammocks was really special and we managed to see a leatherback turtle! I’d recommend taking snack food for lunch and breakfast as the restaurant is quite expensive in Tayrona.

We had a fabulous 2 days in Tayrona hiking with friends with the highlights being Pueblito and Arricifes. Tayrona is not off the beaten track, and the wildlife is well hidden, but the scenery and overall experience was still wonderful. Calabazo Entrance - I highly...More

The park itself is very well preserved, clean, and the beaches are the best I saw on the Caribbean Coast of Colombia. I stayed overnight and it was absolutely worth it! Prices can be high when you get into the park (shuttle from entrance to...More

It took us 2.25 hours to walk in but only 1.75 hours to get out. 3 hours of beach time and call it a perfect day. The walk was challenging at times, but a couple of 55 yr. olds made it just fine. It is...More

DO IT ALL. In terms of children friendly, we (my girlfriend and I) would suggest medellin and cartegena. But also you can go to tayrona for a night from Santa marta which kids will love.
