We always enjoy our night out at First Avenue Playhouse Dessert Theatre. Always friendly and comfortable. The monthly shows have variety and there is always a mix of new and familiar actors onstage. A real gem.

Great show. The story line was interesting and funny and the dessert and coffee was a plus after the dinner at a local restaurant.

My husband and i did a date night last month and saw our first play at the First Avenue Theater. We both weren't sure what to expect. We were happily surprised. The play was great....had a good story line, was very funny and the ladies put on an excellent performance. Everyone was super nice... including the performers, who we got... More

I have been to First Avenue Playhouse many time over the last few years and have always had a good time. They perform mostly comedies that are enjoyable. No where else in Central NJ can you see a good show and get a tasty desert for less than $25. The tables are a bit small for the number of customers,... More

We have been going to this theatre for years. A cozy community theatre with coffee and cake-what could be better. While the performances are not always Broadway caliber, they are usually very good. The theatre leans towards comedies but occasionally branches out. They put on a new show every month and we have seen most of them. You get a... More

Recently went to First Avenue Playhouse Dessert Theatre and saw Jenny's House of Joy. We couldn't stop laughing. The performances were outstanding, especially the dialogue between the characters Anita & Frances. Great job by all!

What a wonderful evening! The play was so great and the performances were all fantastic. We had front row seats and I enjoyed my cake and tea. I especially enjoyed Anita's character. She was incredible and she brought me to tears in the one scene.... Very moving .... I can't wait to go back again !!

Well, first let me speak about First Avenue Playhouse Dessert Theatre in general since that'll wind up being dramatically more relevant long term. The play itself will be gone by the end of the month…sadly. What you can expect after entering the building: - The absolute friendliest, kindest, happiest employees you'll ever see - A smaller room with a bunch... More

I've been going to First Avenue Playhouse since it opened over 25 years ago! I have seen many wonderful shows there, as well as directing and acting in over a dozen of their shows over the years. Comedies, farces, mysteries, and even the occasional drama and small musical - First Avenue has a new show every month presented by talented... More
