The Lungomare coastal walk from Volosko to Lovran is a wonderful 2 hour/9km stroll through Opatija, Icici and Ika. If the return walk is too much there is always the number 32 bus which runs along the coast road every half hour or so.

This is a great walk. Closer to Opatija there is some construction and an ugly marina, but before that, and after that stretch, it is a fabulous walk. I love how they have made these pools around the ocean. Didn't get in the water, but...More

We picked this restaurant at the recommendation of the hotel, but were disappointed. We sat outside and the view was nice (overlooking the sea), but the service was very slow. We kept trying to get the waiters attention, but no luck. We were there 90...More

This >100 year old walk is almost 12 km long and beautiful. Beware that it is only shaded in the later afternoon.

We walked along the coast after a lovely lunch stop in Opatija. This is near some lovely museums and parks, where you can stop and enjoy the views along the way.

Very nice walking area in beautifull Opatija. Nicely modelled stairs in stone and nice wide walking area in shadow by the sea.

When I am in Opatija, I am always taking Lungo Mare a walk to Lovran on one side and to Volosko on the other side. Very plesant, crossing Icici and Ika, with many cafés and banks on the way.

Lovely walks to be had with sea views and charming old buildings and views along the coast. Don't forget your camera!

I will be arriving in April from the Ferry Stop at Cal d'oro. Everyone says the hotel is hard to find. I have direction and a map but then most people do. What is the secret to finding the hotel?? Dave

Is it possible to hop on and off a Hurtigruten cruise? We'd like to travel in September and spend a couple of nights on the islands. Can we then get back on another ship? We're also thinking of incorporating a rail journey. Any suggestions as to what would work? Thank you.
