Trsat Castle represents a strategically embossed gazebo on a hill 138 meters above sea level that dominates Rijeka. As a parochial centre it was mentioned for the first time in 1288. Trsat Castle is one of the oldest fortifications on the Croatian Coast, where the characteristics of the early medieval town construction have been preserved. Today Trsat Castle, beside the Bazilisk souvenir shop and the Gradina coffee bar, is enriched with new facilities – gallery space where art exhibitions are held as well as open-air summer concerts and theatre performances as well as fashion shows and Literary evenings. Within Trsat Castle, at the Petra Zrinskog b.b. Address, is the Trsat Castle Info Point where any information about this building and the town of Rijeka can be found.

Trsat Gradina is not actually a castle it is fortress from roman time. From ti you can enjoy in beautiful view over Rijeka and see. if you coming with car be aware of parking , because there's not much space for it. To make a tour you need about 1h - 2h.

Drive all the way up the hill, past the castle sign, past the church (on the right), turn right after the church wall and park inside the church's parking lot. I don't know if this is allowed or not, but we didn't see any signs that it's not. Castle is just 3-4 minutes walking distance from the church. Castle itself... More

It is very atractive sight and in my opinion the most beautiful point in Rijeka. You can enter the castle for free and climb all the way to the top where the wiew is incredible. Inside the walls there is a beautiful bar with big terrace where you can enjoy the sun and have a drink. It's a shame the... More

The castle is free, as there is not actually that much to take in. Consider it more as a historic viewing post, with some good wall walks, a tower to climb and get even more elevated views and some limited information. Pretty shrubs scented the sunny Spring breezes so it is very pleasant to stroll around and relax. The cafe... More

It's located 35 minutes walk from Rijeka's center. As you keep going up the view gets better and better. Trsat is a must when visiting Rijeka. There are coffee shops and restaurants 3 minutes from the castle - make sure to take a picture from the top.

Awesome view above city, intresting story about this castle. If weather is cloudy or windy no recommend to visit, there was strong wind. You should visit on sunny days.

Being from the country of thousand castles (Slovakia), I perhaps cannot fully appreciate this attraction. Outlook from the castle is great, that's for sure. What I don't quite get is that half of the castle serves as café. A historic place like this shouldn't be downgraded in such way. So it was nice to see, and we just walked along... More
