A pleasant walk from the beach takes you to the cove which is very popular for swimming and snorkelling.

Great place to visit and to snorkel, with a nice walk to find the place. If you go to puerto ayora, you have to see it.

Very nice swim/snorkle. Clear water with dancing sunlight. 80 cents on water taxi from main dock in Puerto Ayora. Can get crowded depending on the tourist season. Warmer water than the open ocean. A few fish. Bring snorkel mask. No need for flippers.

take the water taxi to Angermayer ($0.80) and walk to Las Grietas. Take your time as you will see salt ponds along the way, and marvel in the unique landscape.

I would recommend checking out Las Grietas. I went after spending half a day at Tortuga Bay. You do not need to spend an entire day there. The water was cold but refreshing. It gets crowded in the afternoon.

Nothing special here. The signage explains a little bit about what went on to create the craters. See also my reviews for the turtle reserve, Charles Darwin Research Centre, numerous restaurants in Puerto Ayora, Tortuga Bay, and also reviews for Buenos Aires, Santiago, Lima, Cusco...More

Las Grietas, or "The Cracks" by far was my favorite place that I visited on Santa Cruz. One because it is basically free despite the $2 water taxi ride and two the natural beauty of the place. The amazing clarity of the water makes this...More

We saw this as part of a tour that only cost 35.00 for 4 hrs. 2 rounds of snorkeling, walking tour of a nearby island and finishing off with Las Grietas where we were able to swim in the crystal clear, cool water of this...More

Perdón por la tardanza. Si tiene horario hasta las seis. Normalmente se va en barca pero se puede acceder andando desde el puerto en Puerto Ayora!
