Lovely by day! Lots of restaurants and shops across the street. Wide sand beach. Calm waters, protected by the peninsula. Party central by night! Can be very noisy until pretty much dawn. If you like your sleep, better t stay a few blocks off the Malecon. Gets VERY crowded on weekends and especially holidays during high season, December to March!

The Malecon is OK, but not as well maintained as it should be. Across the street, the sidewalks fronting the buildings and businesses are far too narrow and in bad repair - an issue for anyone with mobility challenges. At peak times, traffic and crowds can make for a rather unpleasant experience. The Municipality really needs to step up its... More

Salinas is known as the main beach resort in Ecuador and the province of Santa Elena. It is also the ideal place for water sports: diving, table, candle, and volleyball, jet skiing and fishing. I can say that this beach is the biggest choice for water sports. It is a city with large buildings; most of the boardwalk is surrounded... More

Four years ago I was here, lots of good restaurants, lost of sand beaches, nice combination between sports, food and relax. Now it's gone. Restaurants are nothing special to bad (of course there are still exceptions), a lot empty buildings, more expensive and more street sellars. It's nothing special anymore.
