Arrive in the tree-adorned island of Taveuni to discover a tropical paradise you've only dreamed about. Slip on your fins and mask and slide into the warm waters of Fiji. Let all the stress of everyday life fall away as you make your way along the magical reef of Waitabu. The communities of Waitubu and Bouma came to protect their native fishing grounds in 1998. Their foresight and diligence has allowed visitors, like yourself, the opportunity to share in the beauty of the Waitabu Marine Park. These crystal-clear waters are home to the most amazing marine species you may ever see. Don't be too surprised when you pass a sea turtle or find yourself following a gentle ray. You know you're in paradise when you've landed in the Waitabu Marine Park.

Every dive was AMAZING! Beautiful corals and sea life! Quite a diversity. Most dives relatively little current, several with more, but worth the time and $$ to get there. A "must go" for everyone!

You get to see the country side and villages along the way. Little boat ride and to the waterfall is cool. On way back, you can also hit the Bouma waterfall as well.

We went in a rainy day and we only could snorkell at the beach ( boat wasn`t available); even though we could watch many different and colour fishes.

Visit the village and snorkel the protected reef. The villagers are so friendly and welcoming and the drive to the village is a wonderful experience in local life. This is an ongoing project that makes you feel involved and glad you came.

Love this village and impressed by their efforts to manage their marine environment. You can snorkel in the marine protected area and the protection they have implemented really shows through. Lots and lots of good size fish with no fear of humans. Saw one white...More

We stayed in the a village, home stay, for two nights, and when we were leaving, we felt very attached to them. Waitabu does not get many tourists and the village is off the beaten tourist trail. This makes Waitabu all the more appealing. Genuine...More
