Although I couldn't spend much time here, I loved my visit to Port Blair. My short stay was worth it as I got the best recommendations. I owe my experience to Gopal bhaiya who runs his own small travel agency (Sadai Tours and Travels). He knows everything about the islands: where you should visit, what's a good place to eat at, where to stay, and how best to fill your day! His enthusiasm kept me on my feet. If you're looking for a good, eventful, budget-friendly trip with the best informal guide, Gopal bhaiya is the man.

He also helps you book your ferry tickets, stay, visitors tickets, two-wheeler renting, etc. Just leave your trip in his hands and you won't have a thing to worry about. He's polite, happy, hard-working, and very very helpful. Best travel agent ever for a custom-made trip.

Call him as soon as you land in PB, and he's there to take care of you. Call him on +91 9531918600 or +91 9933202151.

A birding trip is a must for those interested in land and water birds. The services of a guide - expert birdwatcher with equipment is needed.. .

There is nothing to do there
Dec 2020
We visited Chidiyatapu after visiting Havelock and Neil Island and was very disappointed. We did not even stay for the actual sunset to happen. There is nothing left at chidiyatapu so they take you to munda pahad and make you wait there till its time for sunset. Munda pahad has a trek option and some place to sit etc so they let you do time pass there till they have to bring you back to chidiya tapu for the sunset. Apparently the tsunami ruined chidiyatapu.

Not to be missed Sunset Point with flocks of birds & beach at Southern tip of Port Blair
Feb 2020
This Southernmost tip of Port Blair about 25 Kms from the city, is most recommended for Sunset viewing. During evenings, many birds flock to this area, hence the name Chidiya Tapu. The trek to Munda Pahad starts from the Chidiya Tapu beach area. The Sunset Point is 2 Kms before the Chidiya Tapu park. Spend 3- hours to explore this attraction plus 1 hour travelling time from city.

Best for Sunset view In Port Blair
Dec 2019
The island is famous for its variety of bird species, many indigenous to the island. Do not miss the mesmerizing view of the sunset and keep your camera ready to capture the moments. (Timings: 5am -5pm, Entry free).

Sunset, Tea & crocodile.
Jan 2020
Set approximately 22 kms from Port Blair is this place famous for sunset and strolling (I'll refrain from using trekking as the climb is small and easy). You can sit there enjoying the nature and sipping tea. The walk up to Munda Pahar closes by 5 pm so be early if you wanna go there too.
Be cautious of venturing into the waters as crocodiles are very common there. The fallen trees make a good backdrop for photo enthusiast.

My stay at Chidyatapu
Mar 2020 • Friends
Our base at Chidyatapu was the newly built Big Tree Hotel, which was the ideal place to stay for anglers who have their charter boat stationed in the bay at Chidyatapu. Also the ideal place to stay if you are into scuba diving as there is a well known diving school right there and also for bird watchers as Chidyatapu as the name suggests is a place where many rare species of birds can be found.

The hotel in itself has great accommodation in the form of cottages with modern amenities in the rooms. The staff were wonderful people who strive to please their customers. All in all, a great place to stay after a long day out doing whatever brings you to Chidyatapu. In our case, it was big game fishing.

What a view!
Mar 2020 • Family
Everyday in Andaman seems like an unparalleled experience and the sunset at chidiya tapu surely lives up to that expectation. It is 22kms from Port Blair airport. A small climb leads to a sunset viewing point to soak in the experience better. A little hike past the biological garden leads to the beach for a quiet evening with nature. There are a lot of stray dogs in the area, be kind and feed them.
