Very large lake with nice gardens and walking/running paths around it (far east side has an interesting statue of Buddha). However, went in late May and the water level was surprisingly low with a not so nice smell. Recommend not visiting in mid-summer.

Vastly dried up. Is soon going to become an eye-sore. The open mild hot breeze was a saviour. Still scenic and paddle boatable in one section, is the only saviour.

The lake is just beside the Rock Garden, you can take a e-rickshaw for 10 bucks to reach the lake. There are few food joints/cafe at the entrance. You can do boating/shikara etc. Lake is vast with an island at one side. The hills are visible at the backdrop of the lake which make it more beautiful. You can take... More

This is one of its kind with all type of ferrying available, bu only challenge is you need to wait at the counter to buy the "Right" tickets, Ensure what you ask for and what is get is correct, else the officials may give you a paddling ticket instead of a ferry ticket.

I would consider the Sukhna lake the best at Chandigarh, even over the Rock garden. First thing is - it is well maintained, no filth around, not much plastic bottles and rubbish in the lake. ( a tall thing in India) - kudos to citizens of Chandigarh and the visitors and the people who maintain this place. We went in... More

I was not too impressed with this place. It was pleasant enough with some activities, but on the whole there are too many vendors around that takes away the beauty of the place.

A beautiful man made lake in the heart of the city, it is thronged by morning walkers who have been visiting it regularly for years all together. It's is open 24 hours but the best time to visit is early in the morning for fresh air and watching the sun rise. Its a beautiful picnic spot for people of all... More
