This is a great museum! Space history began in New Mexico starting with Robert Goddard in Roswell (no, no aliens) all the way to tests for the Space Program at Holloman Air Force Base.

Great view of the Tularosa Basin and out over Holloman AFB and White Sands Missile Range, where much of our space exploration history has its roots in the development of vehicles and systems to get us out of Earth's orbit!

This museum is small, but awesome. My three-year-old loved it. It's nice to go for a day trip. They also have a pretty trail to walk right outside the museum. And if you go into town there's a small park with a toddler train ride....More

Saw the documentary "Back to the moon ". I was unaware of the contest generated by Google. Using new technology and reduced costs to get back to the moon.

We didn't realize that their hours of operation had changed and, sadly for us, went through Alamogordo on a Tuesday. BUT we easily spent an hour there walking around the many, many outside exhibits. Displays were all clearly marked and explanations were good. So sorry...More
