Being a history buff, this was the part of my Ahmedabad trip I enjoyed the most. Especially, the architectural aspects from different cultures and ruler's eras that were such an innate part of the city and visible in the very regular residential areas presented a story of how the city evolved which made me feel acquainted with the place as... We took a morning walk through several of the pols in the old city. Our guide was fantastic, and knew many of the people we met along the way. We were introduced to the various forms of architecture in the pols, stopped by several temples and mosques, visited open markets, and enjoyed the atmosphere of the old city up close.

Although I raised in Ahmedabad, i don't know the history of my own home town until i took tour. When I was young I went through the pole, relief road, etc but never thought the history. I highly recomand this tour. Tour guide is very knowledgable.

We booked a night walk on sunday with ease just half an hour before the walk begins. Had loads of expectations from this one as they charged 290/person. It began with a shuttle ride to the haveli where a guide waited for us. With that guide's real bad english, literally dirty and dusty haveli was what we saw.. then continued... More

The House of MG organizes a tour of the old Ahmedabad. This is an excellent way to see the city and learn its history through it's Havelis, temples, and Jamma Masjid. Our guide, Sayied, was very knowledgeable and entertaining as he weaved us through the narrow streets. The walking tour takes 2 hours.

So happy I found this and took part. My first opinion of the old city was that it was old, dirty and run down but once I did the tour I came to have a greater understanding and appreciation for this part of the city. Highly recommended if you're interested in history and buildings. The tour also takes in some... More

My tour guide was Nirav, the tour started around 8:45 with a brief video introduction and then it went on for another three hours. The old city center of Ahmedabad is a fascinating maze of little streets and neighborhood complexes called "pols", each of them owned by a different family or syndicate of craftsmen. Very interesting details, such as the... More
