It is well worth booking the visit and spending the morning walking round this fabulous collection of textiles. The tour guide was enthusiastic and full of information.

I did not go to a Catholic school, but I understand the docent of the Calico Museum reminds people of a very strict Mother Superior. I believe she is the same woman who led the tours when I was here some eight years ago, and time has only served to make her more of a character. Very much the drill... More

We had the pleasure to follow a guided visit of this museum. Very interesting comments and explanations by the guide, and absolutely unique collection of beatiful textiles. The only critic I could give is that the visit goes quite fast, but there is so much to see inside.

Stunning collection of textiles - rivals the V&A. Viewing is by tour and appointment only, so make sure you book far in advance so as not to miss this gem. Tour is guided by an expert and you learn about the context in which these textiles have been used and made. Highlight of my tour was the room with the... More

The very best of Indian textiles with a knowledgeable guide. the only problem is there's so much to see and the guide decides what you see, even so it's not to be missed

Well worth a visit but must be booked in advance. One is taken around under close supervision. Unfortunately you cannot take photographs and they have run out of all postcards, which was a great disappointment. The collection deserves a much wider range of exposure to the public, rather than the somewhat grudging access we were allowed.

This was a working mill in Ahmedabad at once. Now it has been converted as a museum. but the museum is not well maintained. there is nothing attractive in this place. its just the waste of time type of place. don't go there until you are totally out of your mnd.

A strange place, where you have to take permission to visit one day before form some private organization. that too kids are not allowed. What the museums are for then?
