Of the 42 islands in the park, Pirotan Island is the most popular and is one of the two islands where visitors are normally permitted. The island was originally known "Pir jo thaan" meaning the place of the holy Saint Khwaja Khizer Rahmatullahialaih.

"Nawanagar nature club" organises this 1 day tour. Reporting time was 5:00 AM at New Bedi port. Followed by 1.5 hour one way boat journey. This Island has decent mangroves cover and good marine life. This island is part of Jamnagar Marine national park so arranging trip on your own would be difficult as one need to take permission from... More

Very good and must visit quiet place. Here you can see birds and sea creatures also. Also you require to take prior permission if you want to land on island.

You can take a boat from Bedi port or Nava port in Jamnagar, for which you should arrive an hour before high tide, and schedule a couple of hours travel in each direction. The tide time changes with the moon, so schedules vary seasonally. Ask locally about boat timings for the specific day you plan to go.

We visited the island through "Navanagar Nature Club ". The poorest arrangements done by club. The wooden boat hired having apx sitting capicity of max 40 pax. However, as per their counts, total apx 145 pax were in the boat. Just imagine. .Most of the tourist with their spouse stayed in open out side the cabin in this winter for... More

Great place to visit. If luck favors one can site dolphin's, crab, star fish, puffer fish, octopus, sea horse, sea weeds, large variety of corals and birds. One can visit in certain months of years through special permission only. No mobile network at the island.

I was very excited about this high tide and low tide thing at first. We had to leave from the port early in the morning around 7:30 for Pirotan and reached around 10'o clock. The island is not so far from Bedi port but based on depth, passengers will be shifted from a bigger boat to a smaller one. The... More
