It is the second largest Moghul Garden in Srinagar, Kashmir. Opened in 1633, it has the terraced Persian garden design, with a central canal of flowing water, studded with fountains. Burgeoning with many varieties of flowers and chinar trees, the garden is an exquisite work of art in the folds of Zabarwan Mountain behind it and the splendorous Dal Lake... More

Shalimar Bagh is a visual treat with flowers like Pansy, Daisy, Magnolia, Hollyhock, Phlox etc, adorning the garden. A guide came along with us, who explained the details and elucidated the marvels of the place. Built by the great Emperor, Jahangir for his wife Noor Jahan, in the early seventeenth century, the garden is home to a plethora of trees... More

A good garden with historical architecture. Reminded me of the Brindavan Gardens of Mysore and also made me reminisce of the erstwhile parks of Bangalore that were in every locality

It's a large, 3 terrace garden with water canal in centre. Beautiful flowers and trees in the garden and background view of snow peaked mountains add to the beauty of garden. There are few 300-400 yrs old Chinar Trees in the garden. Had the fountains been running, it would have made this garden awesome.

Impressive beautifully laid out gardens with a long water feature, which was popular with families and younf children as it was a hot day, and many were wading into the cold water. Some very impressive and colourful varieties of plants and flowers, displayed to maximum effect.
