Kings Houseboat was recommended by a friend and we are so grateful to find this gem of old school luxury. We stayed on the three bedroom Boat but there is also options of two and four bed boats available all found within the gated community of this family’s plot. This is a special find as you will find yourself in a secluded location on Nigeen lake with no other boats visible. Surrounded by lotus flowers and the sounds of chirping birds this is truly a slice of paradise. The family provide breakfast and a different home cooked meal every evening. They are also an endless source of local information and can help with any travel plans large or small. This family boasts three generations of history in houseboats and you will benefit from those years of experience in customer care. They call Nigeen lake the Jewel in the crown but I think this location / boat / family are the real Jewel. Just superb. Katy & Ian

Relaxing, fantastic, and so enjoyable that we went back again!

We got the sweetest gentleman to take us out on the water- and he even made a sort of hat out of lotus leaves for us!

The lake though smaller that the Dal is very clean and the boat houses are worth a stay. Shikara ride was the best thing to do.

Very calm and serene as compared to the hustle bustle of Dal Lake. Picturesque. Good mountain views. A late evening shikara ride takes you through the Lotus park, Vegetable parks and into Meena bazar. Mr Abid ensured we had a thoroughly enjoyable 3 hr time.

This is a beautiful lake and less crowded than Dal lake , it’s just on the back side of Dal lake and also connected to Dal lake. The lake is very calm and quite and we enjoyed the lake in a Shikara till 9:30 pm in all the days we stayed in Srinagar. People who are looking for peace , calm and quite atmosphere should stay in this lake for sure.

This is a more serene and visual lake. You can spot the fort from.tbe lake. We stayer at Hotel Dar Es Salam which is on the lake and a beauty to be on. Take the shikara to badam wadi a new garden on the Nigeen lake.

The less heard about Nigeen lake is far more beautiful than the commercial over hyped dirty Dal lake ! I would definitely recommend a shikara ride here verses Dal Lake for its quiet and peaceful charm and beauty ! Dal can be totally avoided for it totally dulls in comparison to Nigeen Lake
