Takes 3 hours to reach from Bangalore. Own transport recommended. No decent hotels after Kolar. No hotels after Mulbagal. Road till Mulbagal is 4 lane. 2 lane thereafter till the temple. Better to visit in evenings, 4-6 pm. Can spend 1 hour Max inside the temple.

Hi We visited kotilingeswara Temple on 11th Nov 2016(Kammasandra, near KGF, karnataka). We started at around 6:30 marathahalli Bangalore. Its around 100 KM from my place, took 2 hr to reach. This Temple is very commercial for linga prathistha (small siva linga) they charged 7500/- and 500 for pooja. Linga prathista starts fromm 7500/- 70000/- based on linga size. The... More

To visit this place does not need planning. It is near to Bangalore and ideal place for 1 day short trip with family and friends. I left Bangalore @ 9 A.M from HAL and reached at 11.15 A.M. I was amazed after seeing lakhs of Shivlinga and great statue of Nandi. We also visited temples of Mahadev, Vishnu and Brahma.... More

A wonderful place for religious people and especially who are all devoted to Lord shiva. From the KGF bus stand it comes around 7 kms, have good parking and then entry fee. The way is properly structured you can't zig zag or skip, you need to go one by one. The temple priest will tell about the brief of the... More

My wife and I, left Bangalore on a bright Monday morning (17.10.2016), by Car at around 9 am intending to visit the Industrial Township at Narsapura, Kolar. However, our client called in to reschedule the appointment to post lunch. Accordingly, we decided to head to Kotilingeshwara, which has been long pending on our list of places to visit. We stopped... More

following are "my personal opinions" about this place as per title this is fully commercialized place starting from the entry fee 20/- + 100/- camera (which nobody bothers to check) 3-4 temples are in row in a way that you can't escape or bypass any of them pujari show their arrogant side when we ask to bypass the temple IMO... The road was in good condition until the highway after that huge potholes and a single lane for two ways. But can be managed. Except one food court there is absolutely none until the end ..with children we should... More

Two unique things about this temple is that it houses the largest Shiva Linga and the highest number of Shiva Lingas. There are close to 90 lacs Shiva Lingas in this temple. More Shiva Lingas are being added to increase the number to 1 crore. The main deity of this temple is Lord Shiva who is worshipped in Linga form... More

I have visited the place long back as a one day trip with my friends. The place is unique and good as you can see more then 90 lakh shive lingas and the world largest shivalinga as well. The priest were demanding for money is the bad thing and should be avoided to make the place more to visit.
