I see several positive reviews here of Kochi books. So my review is going to be a bit discordant. I'm a reader and book lover and tend to gravitate towards bookshops when I travel. These are usually happy hunting' grounds for me - where I seek a short period of rest, peace, conversation and perhaps a good book to buy,... More

I had a full one hour conversation with the store manager, who was well read, interested in getting books from all parts of the country and found even the now dying South Asian magazine - Himal here. He suggested many Malayalam authors to me available in translation and I valued his advice. It is on the first floor of a... More

It's really a book paradise, lots of books, and some very rare collections were available, some books are more than 150years old, it's really a paradise for book lovers, many world era novels are well displayed, the condition of the books are really good, you can have a glance at this place when you have leisure, it is totally worthy...!!!

I thought this place is a lot bigger than what it actually is: a small book store carrying some limited number of books. Not sure how people can take pic of books here, as I was prohibited to do so by bookkeepers when I was about to take some pic of Kamasutra books (oh yeah they have them)

You need to spend time here. Its a great book store. Travel history anything you want is available here. The owner and the staff is very friendly and helpful. You should once go and check the shop even if you have no plan to buy a book, I bet you will buy something for sure.

Please Visit the place, and make sure you have enough time when you visit. Dont go there if you are in rush. Its quite a feeling to touch those books, smell it, read the cover or summary, and you will realize somewhere you touch the history

What a wonderful bookshop! We were sent there because it is one of the few places where you can buy maps of Kerala. We left with an armful of those books that one always meant to read but which are now largely unavailable.

Lovely cool spot to browse and perhaps buy travel books but they also have fabulous local history books too and some fabulous books on Kathakali or just buy some postcards.
