The best time to visit Periyar National Park is early morning to spot the wild life. The Periyar lake is a beautiful place inside the National park and worth spending some time watching the greenery and wildlife.

Periyar National Park is a place which has such limited human development, it's incredible to go on a guided tour (unguided visits are not allowed) and see the beautiful forests and if you're lucky, catch a glimpse of wildlife such as monkeys or sambar deer....More

Awesome Natural Park. Boating is superb. You can some time spot some wild animals. Morning or evening time is perfect. Please avoid noon time as it might be hot. Absolutely recommended and it was a great experience for us.

Well maintained National Park. Good chance of spotting different animals like Deers, Porcupines, Boars etc., Do stay in the park and do the night safari. Try to walk and cycle around in the park during the day.

A very neat and organized management. It was raining and chances of seeing any elephants or animals was zilch. But low and behold, we saw the ferocious and famed wild dogs. They were a pack of about 40-50 wild dogs that had minutes back brought...More

An early start for pre-booked ranger walk and we were privileged to see elephants grazing in the cool of the early morning. Same plenty of other birds and animals expertly guided by 2 rangers

Like many others have said, there is not much to do as a day trip here besides the boat rides. We did see quite a few animals, but of course no tigers. I think if you go on the earliest boat and keep your expectations...More

A good nature friendly national park, situated in Thekkady, Kerala. There you can enjoy nature and animals sighting like Deer, Buffalo, Monkeys etc. Also you can take a boat safari in dam reservoir.

Hi. I'm am planning on a short weekend trip to Periyar national park in 2 weeks. I'll only have (the entire) saturday and until about 14.00 on sunday. My main objective is animal safari with elephants and tigers being the most exciting. A nice nature experience is of course also much appreciated. Could someone please advise me as to how I should spend my time and which companies/agencies are best? In advance, Thank you :)
