historical place to visit

We accidentally bumped into this place. But the experience was great. A local guide who volunteered and gave good information for no money. That was interesting

The dargah is beautiful. The welcome is not. If you are an outsider - no matter how respectfully you dress & act - you will not be accepted.

It’s a very simple dargah located just 3 -4 kms away from Ellora caves. Its more famous for Aurangzeb and his family members’ grave which are remarkably kept simple as compared to the tombs of other Mughal emperors.

Mughal ruler Aurangzeb is criticised by historians who wanted to spread hatred between two major religions in India. Visiting hear gives totally different picture. As a ruler he never used states money for his personal gain and earned by stitching caps and writing holy Quran. He instructed his officials to make his grace from his money which was 11 rupees.... Dargah situated in Khuldabad, a few kms away from Aurangabad. He did not use the royal treasury for personal expenses or extravagant building projects.

At the Alamgir Dargah the robe of the prophet and two hairs from his beard are kept and these are brought out once a year. Very religious place. Must visit

I think this is next door neighbor to Aurangzeb's tomb. I didnt visit as there was some birthday celebration on and I was more keen on sights further down on our trip.
