Nothing special about this street, usual shops selling stuff which we see in pretty much every old city. Very congested, constant blaring of horns, stray animals. Nothing special at all.

The market is very good. You can weave easily through these alleys filled with shops offering an array of goods from local to from away. The food is local and good and the restaurants are diverse. In my 3 month textile and craft exploration of India, Rajasthan has the most interesting markets from my experience.

Following centuries of trading this traditional market sells the fruit, vegetables and goods required by the inhabitants of the fort. As such many vows wander the area feeding on the scraps left by the traders and customers.

The city of jaisalmer is not at all maintained by the officials. The garbage, cow dung, open drainage leaves one with a bad experience in the city. The government should look into this as the city is visited by thousands..

We wandered around here one evening after dinner. The shops etc are average I didn't notice anything of particular interest but it was an insight into local life.

Park your car at Gandhi Circle / For parking and take a walk here. Narrow congested streets have lot of shops for shopping. Eat Mirchi wada / Pyaz Kachori at any hotel. If you have come from any heritage city like Varanasi / Jodhpur then this experience will not be unique for you.

This street is like so many other streets in Jaisalmer that I am not sure why it is listed separately. However, saying that.... you will probably cross this street if you are staying a couple of days... its busy and crazy and full of food shops and markets and pigs and cows etc... you probably will walk it without knowing... This is one of the busiest place in Jaisalmer. There are many eateries to satisfy your taste buds. You can also buy many antique items in the shop here.
