Don't expect animal herds like Africa. This place is basically a forest with deer and bird life. Of course the thrill is to see tigers in the wild. We went on 4 game drives and saw a tiger on two of them. Other people saw...More

Lot of wildlife - birds, animals. If you end up going to Zone 3/4, the landscape is pretty amazing too! Got to spot tigers so it made it even more special!

The positive for me were the views, the off road experience and the memories of deer tracking as a child/young man. Did two safaris - one morning and one afternoon. The first resulted in a passing glimpse of a Tiger through the bush. The guide...More

Although we saw tiger prints as well as frenzied hoofed animals and monkeys fleeing, the tiger was too elusive. In fact, no sightings from any of the vehicles that day in any section of the park. I would happily return just for the many species...More

We visited the park on 28-Jan-17 (Saturday) from 14.00 to 17.30 hrs. Booking: We didnt go for online booking as we did not get a surety that we'd be allocated zone 1-5, which we wanted as mostly the reviews said that probability of seeing tiger...More

Ranthambore national park has made a considerable industry out of Tiger Spotting. In the town itself there are m vehicles like an elongated landrover with many seats everywhere, testimony to how popular it has become. Essentially you are picked up at your hotel around dawn...More

Only way to ensure which gate you should be allocated, is through online booking. lf you opt for safari through your hotel (or any agent), your safari gate will be allocated to you randomly. Honestly, I am not aware of the... More
I know you said mornings were best, we plan to be there mid Feb, As per usual, the options are a morning safari or afternoon safari, 1/2 day safari and full day safari? Would you imagine it to be physically taxing to be out in a jeep on dirt roads all day? We are sturdy people but if we went all day and didn't see a single tiger, I'd be miffed. On the flip side, I'm thinking that if we did a whole day jeep tour, there might be fewer jeeps in the park mid day when most return to drop off their hotel guests. Secondly, sine we are scheduled to be in Ranthambore in February, so for the purpose of taking photos, would the lighting be better in the early morning or late afternoon? Do tigers typically sleep at certain times of the day? Lastly, is it worth it to let the swanky hotel schedule the tiger safari in their proprietary jeeps designed with better shocks which in theory are more comfortable but come at a hefty price? Sorry for so many questions. Katherine
