Beautiful experience. But one should reach the station at least half an hour before the scheduled time. Our train for onward journey was very crowded but the train was quite okay during our return journey. Scenic beauty throughout the journey was awesome. We could see wild bison during the course of our return journey. A memorable experience.

Without this Heritage ride your Ooty trip will not be completed. I availed this ride twice, while reaching Ooty I availed the ride from Mettupalayam and while returning I rode again. It was the 1st ever joyride experience of my life and I was spellbound by the beauty of Nilgiri hills. Don't miss it.

It is an amazing lifetime journey. While the train moves the beauty of nature sprouts its wings of mountains and forests. I think one should experience and feel it at the earliest

There is no difference in the experience with first class or second class except the price. I would suggest to go for second class at one sixth the cost per ticket. Always go for left hand seat for best view. The best time to go is by 12.35 pm from Coonoor station and would reach Ooty by 1.35 pm.

Well wanted the kids to get a flavour but wasn't that good for me or them either . The views are nice but perhaps I was led to believe that they would be spectacular . My memory of the Kalka Shimla train is better though it is now 25 years ago and travel always look better in hindsight :-)
