A 2 kms Trek to the waterfall if you start from Jharipani castle. Otherwise take your car down to 1 km and then start your Trek down. Peaceful and soothing atmosphere with rare birds around.

Jharipani Fall:The cascading Jharipani Falls is located on Mussoorie-Jharipani road about 9 km from Mussoorie. From here one needs to cover a favourable distance of 1.5 km either by bus, car or on foot to reach the waterfall. The enchanting Jharipani Falls offers a picturesque view of the Shivalik Range.Need to Walk 2km To reach fall.Advisable to visit from 7: AM to 6 PM

The road to the falls is in very bad shape and no traffic can ply. You need to walk a good 2 km to reach the fall. Hence most tourists do not come to this falls. Unlike the hugely touristy and dirty Kempty falls Jharipani falls are still pristine in a natural setting. The walk from the main road where you can park your car till the falls is a nice walk in the jungle.

Very few places have Raw beauty. Jharipani in one of the only waterfalls that is not taken over by commercial activity. Not for the every day tourist. It has a difficult approach and a 2km trek.
I request all visitors to come and enjoy the beauty. And a humble request to respect nature. Please don't leave your foot prints with any leftovers, no plastic or paper waste. Kindly take memories with you and let others to enjoy the nature as it is.

Jharipani waterfall is a good half hour walk from the nearest motorable road. The road is in very bad condition, and the ground seems to be giving way at points, so it is not be terribly safe. It was a nice climb back to the road from the waterfall, and we managed to take photos of a Khaleej Pheasant on the way. From the calls that I heard, I believe it would be a good place for a bit of bird-watching.

We have reached to the approach road after lot of efforts through traffic jam. There were no proper direction towards this fall. Found there is practically no road to reach this fall, only a walking road through jungle. Look like abandoned place, with no person around. Got scared to walk 2 KMs through jungle with ladies and returned back without reaching the spot. Very disappointed.

Pros:
Exactly how the waterfalls are supposed to be.
Absolutely natural.
The hike downward and upward is through a forest that makes it an adventure.
Clear waters.
Large pool.
Cons:
The hike can be a bit treacherous.
Least frequented place of a sort and there was a minor threat of bears around.
A group of boys were getting drunk and creating a ruckus.
Not developed, hence hard to find a place to change.

How can reach
You need to trek for 2 kms to reach Jharipani fall in Mussoorie . The point till where you can go by your vehicle is Jharipani Castle Resort (you can reach easily using Google map ) . You can plan your stay in the resort ... It's a nice place away from the crowd of Mussoorie .

Kempty Fall is a popular tourist destination and there are lot of tourists around. It is accessible by car.
Where as Jharipani is in a sparsely populated area quite outside mussoorie. The day we went we met only one person on our way to the falls. There was no one around which felt a bit insecure. The road to the falls is not motorable and you will have to trek a steep down hill road of about 3 kilometrs. Coming back and climbing up is not easy. It is good only if you love trekking and are in a group.
Which is the must go place Kempty falls or Jhari falls?
