The ruins at Gaur have been really well excavated and theres 4 or 5 sites within a stone's throw of each other including the Qadam Mosque, the Firoz Minar tomb, Gumti gate and the old fort. This is historic place and ruined city near Malda, its build around 1500 AD, Adina Mosque , Eklakhi Mosque , Shona Masjid, the garden. Its all about Nawab Legacy

We visited this site (which the ASI calls Gour) off the Assam Bengal Navigation ship and it was the highlight of our week on the river Hooghly. Ruins of Gaur near Malda is great exhibition of historic architecture. There are so many structures and still excavations are going on for new discoveries. It suggests the rich historic background of the area. There lies mosques, gates, victory pillars and what not spread over a few kilometers of area dotted with Mango plantations.
