Beautiful memorial to all the victims of the 2002 Bali bombings in kuta.
The site is well maintained and a nice place to pay tributes to all the lives lost.

Our tour guide explained the significance of the place and the story of the Bali bombings. The place is in the corner of the two street were the bombing occurred. The plaque has the names of the victims and bring a solemn tribute to the loss of lives.

We visited a few years ago with our children who did not know about the Bali bombings and again on this trip with my parents who have not visited Bali before.
The monument is beautiful but subtle.
I’m glad we were able to pay our respects.

Seeing so many names of people worldwide, is very very sad. Hard not to feel very emotional by it. The monument is kept well whilst around it many businesses are closed and looking derelict following covid restrictions to Bali.

R.I.P. all.

Always stop at the monument when visiting Bali. Even with limited tourist numbers, there were quite a number reflecting when we stopped there on 12th August. Although much of the surrounding areas have been neglected during the pandemic, the monument is clean and well maintained.

The ground zero monument is a simple and powerful. But more than the design itself, what struck me was just how crowded the Kuta area is - and how devastating that attack was 20 years ago. We hear a lot about the 202 fatalities but so many more must have been injured.

I will note, however, that Google maps has the incorrect location for the memorial. I submitted a revision to Google Maps to correct the error but who knows if it will be accepted.

A sombre place. This simple but effective monument commemorates the Bali bombing tragedy on October 12 2002 that resulted in the deaths of 202 people, mainly tourists.

As you can gather when you are there. The bombing took place right in the heart of then Kuta nightlife to cause maximum damage.
