The whole experience was wonderful. The hosts were knowledgeable about the food, cooking and culture. The market tour and rice field visit was a great start to the day. The setting was lovely. The food was tasty. The transfer to and from made it very accessible. A fantastic way to spend time while in Ubud. Strongly recommend!

    Best cooking class in Bali
Amazing experience from start to finish. From both a cooking perspective and a cultural experience perspective. Wayan was a great guide and his daughter was really great and his whole family were welcoming, kind and accommodating. On top of this, they were great fun!

Such a great morning of cooking, learning and eating! 10/10
We had a fantastic day at periuk cooking class, it was such a brilliant experience. The family running it were so friendly, knowledgeable and made the day so fun. The day began by being collected from our hotel before going to a local market to learn about the local produce. We then briefly visited a rice field to learn about how rice is grown in Bali. Then headed back to begin the cooking class. We made around 12 different dishes and we had huge involvement in each dish, trying out different methods of preparation and cooking. The day ended with a lunch to tuck in ton everything we had made, which was delicious! The class was very well organised and we couldn’t fault it. 10/10 would recommend!

Excellent cooking experience for the whole family
This cooking class was an altogether enjoyable experience for the whole family! We were two adults and two kids of 8 and 10. We weere warmly welcomed with a nice little drink and insights into the making of coconut milk and offerings, before setting off with some serious cooking. The kids were very well taken care of, and loved every bit of cutting, smashing, frying and pancake flipping. As did we adults 🙂 We cooked a lot of different dishes under expert guidance, and had a very solid meal at the end. I would thoroughly recommend this for anyone interested in food, with or without kids!

    Best cooking class in Ubud
The family that run this class are all lovely, their home is really nice and they are all so welcoming. We got picked up from our hotel, driven to a local market where Wayan explained the different veg, fruit & spices on offer, who knew there were so many different variants of bananas. We were then driven to Wayan’s family rice terrace and educated on the rice process. We then drove to his home and were greeted with a delicious welcome drink. We got to make our own Balinese offering and learnt about the family dynamics in a Balinese home. Everything we cooked was delicious, we had the vegetarian options, there was so much that we left very full and satisfied. Wayan dropped us back to our hotel and we were very pleased with the whole experience. 100% recommend this cooking class in Ubud.

Trust them and you will receive professional service.
They will go to the hotel where you live for you. They arrive on time. They tell about the type of food in the market. You can find out how they live in a Balinese family. They also teach you how to prepare very delicious dishes. If you have diabetes, feel free to visit them. They handle it very professionally so that you can do everything together with the others, but the food you prepare must not contain sugar. They pay attention to everything.

Best cooking class I’ve ever done!
This was an amazing experience! We got picked up directly from our hostel, and got dropped there after. We got to learn about all the food cooking process, as well as the Balinese culture, rice field and the making of the offering. The people working there were so welcoming and amazing. The food was delicious and we got to enjoy a welcome drink. I would absolutely recommend this cooking class to everyone!

Fun cooking class - 100% recommended!!
Me and my wife had an great experience in the cooking class! We really enjoyed the ambiance and guiding how to prepare traditional Balinese food. The host gave us a tour to their own rice field just out of town and explained how they grow the rice. After that we made 6 dishes with rice and a peanut saus all from scratch. The daughter of the host was fun to work with and was very clear in what we needed to do. It was an experience we will never forget and we definitely recommend to join this class if you want to learn more about making a traditional meal!

An excellent morning! Loved seeing the little local markets and the rice fields and learning about the rice growing cycle. Then we went to Wayan & Made's family home and learnt about how they make coconut milk and coconut oil. We also learnt to make the daily flower offerings. The cooking class itself was very well run - everything was very well organised and very clean and hygienic. Our teacher Made was hilarious! The food was so delicious - I can't wait to make it again when I go home.
Highly recommend this experience!

The Periuk Cooking Class in Ubud is a fantastic immersion into Balinese culture and cuisine. The class starts with a visit to a local market to learn about the ingredients used in Balinese cooking. Next, you'll head to the rice fields to see how rice is grown. Finally, you'll arrive at the chef's home, where you'll learn about Balinese compound housing and explore the chef's herb garden.

The cooking class itself is hands-on and educational. You'll learn how to extract coconut milk and coconut oil, chop and pound ingredients, and cook a variety of authentic Balinese meals. The chef is friendly, patient, and passionate about Balinese cuisine. The class is a great way to learn about Balinese culture and food, and you'll enjoy the delicious meals you prepare at the end.

My wife, a whiz in the kitchen, dragged me along to Periuk's cooking class, and let me tell you, it was a fantastic experience! Even for someone like me who wouldn't know a whisk from a wok, the instructors were incredibly welcoming and made the whole thing fun. My wife couldn't stop raving about how clear and informative the instruction was. Everyone in the class, from beginners to seasoned cooks, seemed to be having a blast and learning a lot. If you're looking for a truly authentic Balinese experience that's both enjoyable and educational, Periuk's is a must-do!

An amazing culinary experience. Not just learnt about Balinese cusine but also cooked it with wonderful Mr. Wayan and family. Thr market visit and rice paddy field visit were good and informative. The cooking class was very well managed, hygienic and fun. Periuk cooking class - A must try activity if you are in Ubud,Bali.

P.S: Opt for the morning class if you want to know about the local fruits, veggies and spices as market closes by 9am

Got in short notice as we had a change in plans, family run on the generational property. We not only got a great culinary experience, but we also learned about the indonesian culture.

The food was fantastic and it saved our evening.

We absolutely loved the cooking class today with Wayu and his family. It was the most authentic experience. Wayu's niece that did the cooking lesson with us explained everything perfectly to us and we enjoyed every moment. Besides the cooking we had a very interesting market tour and studied the process of making coconut oil. The recipes were delicious and also alternative ingredients that can be used from the european kitchen at home were explained. Thank you so much. Suksma

Such an intimate experience to learn not only how to cook local vegetarian Balinese food, but also gain insight into their cultures and family life within their home (family compound). They asked about any food allergies, and made sure all ingredients were OK. A great way to spend 5 hrs while in Ubud, and so much food with such different flavors to satisfy your palate and fill you belly to the brim :)
