Periuk . He is the most beautiful helpful soul. Who teaches & cooks from the heart.
His classes include more than a traditional market tour, but an insight into the culture behind the people.
I can't recommend this highly enough.
We will definately return.
If your undecided as which cooking class is better for you.
Unless you want to cook in an airconditioned hotel kitchen. Go to Periuk in Ubud.
You will be glad you did.
Five stars.

The cooking class was great ! But it's not the only thing you'll learn.
If you want to learn how the irrigation works for the rice fields, how to do do coconut oil, how to make offerings to the gods, how the houses are built and why, and also have a great cooking experience, this is the class you want !
The owner speaks very good english and is keen to teach you everything he knows.
Bonus if you take the class in the morning, you'll have the opportunity to learn all about the spices and ingredients you will use during the class, and the flowers used to make the offerings, while roaming in the traditionnal market.
10/10, would recommend eyes closed.

Vegan Cooking Class
I’ve had the best time with I Wayan Sukarnaya,
He explains everything in such a clear and interesting way. The walk through the local market where he told me about every spice and veggie used in Balinese Cuisine. The whole rice terraces process and the interesting way Balinese houses are constructed.
He even gave me Tipps on how to substitute ingredients in case I don’t find them in Germany.
He is beyond friendly and couldn’t recommend his classes more!

We were in Bali for a week and this was a great way to spend some of our limited time there. The class was really informative and entertaining, the food was delicious, and it was nice getting to experience a local market and some traditional Balinese cooking techniques.
Actually went in April 2019 but misplaced the tour guide's business card in a move and just found it, so leaving a review now.

We were picked up from our hotel and firstly taken to a local market, where we learnt about local life in Bali. We were then taken to the most beautiful house and taught about how coconut oil is made and we made some Hindu blessings, which you'll notice regularly walking around Bali.Â
We used an outside kitchen to cook our meals and it was really the best cooking class I've ever done. Unlike the others I've done every single person had a job, there was no point where you were standing around whilst one person did the job. They rotated regularly so you got to try everything, it really couldn't have been any better executed. Â
We paid 350k rp for the class, less than £20 each and for me I thought that was amazing value for an experience that lasted us about 4.5 hours and ended with a delicious meal.Â

We absolutely enjoyed our morning: first we went to a small hidden local market, where we learned a lot about different ingredients, then we visited some rice fields where we had explanation on how rice grows and gets cultivated, then we moved to the family’s house where we learned to make our own Balinese Hindu offerings and also got a demonstration of how coconut milk gets made. Then the cooking started, which was really great. The family was very well-organized and efficient, we had help and clear assistance with every step. Each participant had a chance to contribute to every step of the cooking. The food was really amazing, and there were a lot of positive emotions. Really recommended !!!

Is the class possible for 2 adults and 2 children 7 and 11. They like cooking so eventually each child with an adult? Any precision would be appreciated thanks

I think so. The organiser is very friendly and this is a family run business so I am pretty sure they will be able to accommodate the two children. All cooking is supervised so I would not see any problems.
