What a great day! Wayan is lovely and a great teacher. We toured the market and rice paddy, then to his family compound where they have the cooking school set up. Such a great insight into Balinese culture. Was a really great experience.
The food was great and we learned some techniques which we will definitely use. Really hands on - was great. Good taste great too - much better than some of the restaurants we’ve been to!

My partner and I recently did a cooking class with Wayan. We started out with a visit to a local rice paddy to learn how rice was grown and how important it is in Balinese cuisine. We then browsed the local market and sampled a few Balinese treats. The class took place in Wayan's family home with a stunning view of the mountains. We prepped and cooked as part of a group of about 10, making the cooking approchable no matter how skilled you are in the kitchen. The food was very tasty and we look forward to reproducing the recipes at home!

Thoroughly enjoyable cooking course!
I have done several cooking courses in Asia and this is by far the best.
We were collected from our hotel by our lovely instructor Wayan who communicated with us by WhatsApp prior to the pickup. One of us is vegetarian and they easily accomodate this. The course itself was excellent, the teaching was informative and easy to follow and we made easily the nicest meal we have eaten in Bali with a wide range of tastes and flavour.
The family were really helpful and welcoming adding greatly to our experience.
Cannot recommend it enough!

Excellent from start to finish, preparation was done very well along with the teaching of the cooking class. Food was fresh, delicious and would definitely recommend to anyone that has a love for cooking or willing learn how to cook the Indonesian way.

We really enjoyed our session with Pak Wayan and family. I love the engaging storytelling and even though I'm an Indonesian, I learned so many new things about Balinese cuisine today. The dishes also very yummy.

The visit to the rice fields and the local market were also the highlight of the day.

Overall, the course was thoughtfully prepared and such a memorable learning experience.

Wayan is a super nice guide and cook. He took us to the rice fields, told a lot about the history and then at the market he gave us a lot of new kind of fruits to try out. Cooking was super fun!!

i would definitely recommend doing the morning cooking class. The man who ran the class firstly took us to the rice fields and explained how they are grown and then took us too the market where he showed us around whilst explaining the ingredients being used in our class. He was so lovely and accommodating asking us questions to try help us remember and asking us if we had any questions. The cooking itself was amazing we made 9 different dishes making everything from scratch. After we ate what we made and could take as much home as we wanted. The family who ran this class where lovely and shows a family side to cooking in Bali. Would 100% recommend!

Wayan and his parents were amazing hosts - this was the best and most authentic experience I had in Bali. I highly recommend it both as a way to learn about local culture and to take away some new recipes you can use at home!

This experience is not to be missed! One of the best things that we did in Bali.
The hosts are so pleasant and welcoming. Really good set up and will surpass your expectations. This is a family run experience and it couldn’t have been any better. We started with a roadside stop at a rice field where he explained how rice is grown and harvested. Then we went to the local market where he bought lots of things for us to try. Then we went to the cooking class and made lots of dishes, tried them along the way and then sat down and ate all together at the end.
AMAZING!!

We came to Ubud in early April 2022. I found this cooking class online on Klook. Wayan picked us up from our hotel promptly at 8, and we were on our way to the market. He gave us a lovely tour of the market where we tried several fruits that we have never tried or even seen in our life! It was fantastic. Then we stopped in a rice field and learned about the local agricultural customs. We then went to his family home where his mother and father helped out with the process. We cooked so many dishes and learned how to do everything from scratch. The food was so healthy and vibrant. We are as much as we could at the end of the class and then took a bit home. His family ate the remaining food or shared with the neighbors. Then Wayan drove us back to Ubud and taught us more about Balinese culture along the way. It was an unforgettable experience. Suksma!🙏
