attended subak cooking class when revisited Bali in November last year.i chose morning session, included ricefield, tampaksiring market tour, and cook 9 dishes.that session only three guys,so not crowded.they have pick up and dropoff service.chef wayan is very nice cook and informative, learnt a lot from him.thevschool not big but well designed, you have your own cooking place.we made spices and some local dishes, like mie goreng, pepes ayam, sate lilit,lawar...after that we had lunch there,we ate what we cook, delicious,of course!we met wayan's parent there, they are nice and friendly. there are many cooking classes in Bali, some just do demonstration only, you dont have chance to cook, cuz crowded, but at subak, you have chance to cook, though the chef helped a lot, still a valuable experience. you will get the full recipe after the class. recommend Subak to those who love to cook.

Honestly best food I had in Bali. Very fun class with lovely views of the neighbourhood. Wish transport could be more flexible though.

We were looking for an authentic Balinese traditional cooking class and that’s exactly what we got. Outside of Ubud we visited the rice fields where we got an overview by the chefs nephew of how they farmed which was extremely interesting . The uncle then took the class in his cooking kitchen in his house which overlooked mountains and a volcano (absolutely breathtaking). The class ended up only being myself and my other half but the attention to detail was amazing. They gave us a recipe book of 7 dishes and then talked us through and showed us all the ingridients and a background of them and why they are used. We then made everything from scratch which was extremely fun and then were able to have a feast at the end and take the rest home! The family were so lovely and welcoming. Excellent English and were a delight to talk and laugh with. We couldn’t recommend it enough ! They also picked us up and dropped us off!
