Putu took our family on a full day bicycle tour in Ubud yesterday and we were blown away by the service and experience. We are a family with 3 children ages 6,9 and 11. His hospitality and humour kept us smiling all day but what stood out the most was the care he had for our 6 year old. On the roads that had a few cars he took her on a tandem bike chatting to her the whole time and on the quieter streets he got another bike for her so she could ride by herself so she got the best of both worlds. The scenery was amazing, the bike ride all down hill and finishing at the water fall for a swim was a highlight! The lunch at Nyoman’s family compound was the most delicious food we have ever had in Bali. Definitely do not hesitate in booking this tour, it has been the best day in Bali out of our entire trip!

We had an absolute blast on a recent bicycle tour in Bali!

Our guide was amazing, sharing fascinating local facts and stories that made the tour come alive. The route was mostly downhill, so it wasn't too challenging, but still a great way to stay active. Plus, the food we had along the way was hands down the best I've ever had in Bali!

Overall, it was a good experience that I recommend for anyone looking to explore Bali in a unique and delicious way!

We really enjoyed this tour. We requested a personalised experience for our family of two adults and two chidren (6 and 8yo), which included visiting a local school. Our guide Putu was friendly and knowledgeable and explained a lot about Balinese culture and the language. The waterfall visit and refreshing swim was a pleasant end to the cycle. Make sure you bring a towel and change of clothes if you choose to have a swim. The cycling is mostly downhill so no problem for our children. The ride was very safe and we were followed by a support vehicle that carried our bags and the driver assisted with any busy road crossings. They provide plenty of bottled water from start to finish and the traditional balinese meal at the end was excellent. I highly recommend this scenic and culturally rewarding experience.

Nyoman met us at our hotel for collection in person, reminding us to grab swimming suits for the trip to the waterfall.

We stopped of at Abian Desa Rice Terrace so see the rice paddies and got a lesson about how the fields are shared and worked between whole villages. Then we had the change to take some BEAUTIFUL pictures, before heading to a coffee plantation to try a whole bunch of samples of various, teas, coffees, hot chocolate and even the famous Luwak coffee (which is the only one you have to pay for.

We then went on a short car ride to start our bike tour, stoping at a local school, and learning about the Balinese education programme and all the students were so friendly. We continued and saw other areas of importance, the local village meeting point, various local rice paddies.

Before the climax of the tour ending at the Taman Sari Waterfall. Where you can swim, get some amazing pics and quite quiet as well.

After we headed to Nyoman's own home, where we was served a buffet of Indonesia home cooked delights with 2 chicken dishes, and veggie and vegan dishes! Without a doubt the BEST FOOD we've had in Bali!

All we can see is you have to go!

We had an amazing day with Putu and his family. Putu was friendly, welcoming, funny and engaging and we learnt so much. We are a family of five with three boys between 8 and 12 years old and all thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
The coffee plantation visit was really interesting with a great range of teas and cocoa for the kids too.
We felt very safe on the leisurely ride through villages and rice paddies and were lucky enough to pass a temple celebration.
There were regular stops along the way explaining Balinese life and especially the stages and process of growing and harvesting rice.
The waterfall swim was a lovely refreshing finish to the ride.
Being welcomed into Putu's family compound and treated to the BEST Indonesian food we have had during nearly a month travelling around was extraordinary.
We are very grateful for this experience and can highly recommend Jegeg Bali Cycling Tours.

We just got back from this trip today, three young kids and my wife and I. It was a brilliant day. We started at a coffee plantation where we sampled several different types of coffee and tea and it was really interesting to taste the varieties made there. Pedalling (freewheeling really) through small quaint villages and stopping to chat to a local primary school, ending up with a swim at a wonderful waterfall. But the icing on the cake for us was the lunch inside their family home which is stunning and not something you get to see often if at all. Hands down best meal we have had in Bali, my kids tried everything which was amazing. Fabulously friendly with good local knowledge, we are all talking about when we come back to do it again. Thankyou Putu and Nyoman and family!!

We decided to book the bike tour with Jegeg Bali Cycling Tours given the excellent reviews. I must say they did not disappoint! This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Both Putu and Ketut were very friendly and made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the whole trip but also made us feel very welcome. Putu had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable, so not only was it a fun trip but we got to learn lots of things too!

They had also prepared an extra bike with a child seat just in case our 7 year old would get too tired. In the end she cycled 90% of the time and when she was tired she switched and Putu was able to take her on his bike in the child seat. The views were breathtaking and it was all pretty much downhill :) We stopped a few times along the way so it was perfect when you are with young children. For example, we stopped at a local school which was great as we could see how the school system works in Bali and the children could meet local children who were very happy to engage with us.

The traditional lunch at the end of the trip at Putu’s family compound was the icing on the cake. They have a beautiful home and the food was so delicious! Our daughters especially loved the satay! We loved every second of this tour and will definitely book again when we are back. We highly recommend!

Could not recommend this highly enough. The locations and activities (rice terraces, coffee plantation, cycling and waterfall) were top notch, the food at the end in the family house was unreal. The best part of the trip by far was the guide Putu. He was so enthusiastic, lovely and gave us lots of interesting info, definitely made the experience. 10/10.
