Widya Arsana's class was for me one of the highlights of my trip to Bali. The class was complete, step by step, non-rushed. I wanted an in-depth experience of Batik and he delivered. I brought home a great first-try batik and if I had the chance to return I would. This class offers pick-up and drop off at your hotel... More

My husband and I signed up for a five hour class and created our own batiks from scratch. It was a really slow process but we loved it. It was rather warm though as the class was in an outdoor location and no lunch was provided (although there was a designated eating space to eat the lunch our driver brought... More

Widya is a master-batik designer originally from Java. His very well-equipped and laid out studio space is in the rear of the family compound. Starting with being picked-up on the doorstep of my hotel, the entire day was truly special. His studio assistants are there to guide you step-by-step through the whole process. Even if you haven't an artistic bone... More

My boyfriend and I took the batik workshop here and we both loved it. Even my boyfriend, who joined reluctantly, enthused about it at the end and even wanted to go a second time when we saw the fruits of our labour. The class was great and the people who were there to guide us were really patient. It also... More

We sort of dropped the ball on booking this ahead of time and thus had to be squeezed in last minute in the afternoon. Insider tip- don't do as we did and book ahead, morning is best as the batik needs the sunshine to develop the color and to dry. Still though we had a fantastic experience. The teachers were... Batik lessons provided by Widya's Batik were very interesting and we were able to learn a little bit more about a relevant Indonesian tradition. The lesson takes 5 hours approximately, so it is really worthy, and you can keep with you the piece of batik which is a memorable gift. However, I would suggest more explanation on painting techniques as... More

My granddaughter and I followed a driver through a doorway, not having a clue what we were about to encounter. Five hours later, we were tired, but thrilled with the whole experience. Complete novices, we joined several other people who were already intent on their pieces. We were quietly and expertly guided through each step and soon became involved in... More
