We spent a wonderful morning with Wayan. It started with a knowledgeable tour through the market. The cooking class was great fun with lots of laughs and... importantly cooking! Then the best part, eating! It was a special family environment, preparing the food together and then eating. Wayne was an amazing host. Highly recommend!

The communication with Wayan was very easy. He picked us up at our hotel and we visited the market, that was very interesting. Then we went to an rural place right next to beautiful rice terraces and startet cooking. We can really recommend this cooking class, as it is so well prepared, Wayan and his family are very helpful and funny. The food turned out delicious. Back home we will cook the food again! Thank you Wayan :)

This was simply fantastic. Not only did we have some laughs, we made new friends, and learned some recipes that we are sure to try when we get back to our own kitchen. From the pick up from our hotel to the visit to the market to the lunch itself, everything was excellent. Definitely recommend.

Phenomenal local and authentic experience. Wayan catered perfectly for our 6 and 9 year old and made us feel right at home. Starting with a local market tour to understand the ingredients, and then meeting his beautiful family in a wonderful surroundings to make some incredible food. This experience was well worth it. Not rushed, very genuine and personalised. I would highly recommend for families looking for a hands on and unique experience.

Wayan and his family are great. It was our family and Wayan's family cooking together. We went to the market to look at the variety of produce and sampled some fruits, then returned to Wayan's rice paddy to learn about the importance of rice to Balinese people. The cooking class was excellent, hands-on, fun, and we made 7 dishes and dessert. Wayan made some special dishes when we told him of a food intolerance. Ginger iced tea, Balinese coffee, and water were available throughout the class. This was the best family cooking experience we have done. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn about Balinese cooking,eat good food, and have fun with a local family.

My husband and I just had an amazing experience at the Tumang cooking class in Ubud. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for an authentic experience. We learned about local traditions and how to master the local foods. The end result was delicious! It was one of the most memorable experience from our trip!

Since the beginning - getting tips on driving a scooter in Bali- Wayan was kind and friendly ( what matters for solo female travellers) and led the lesson with a smile and efficiency. The market visit included some tasting and thanks to that I got to know my new favourite fruit( mangosteen!) Loved also making an offering and finally getting an explanation on it. We didn't do all dishes individually but shared duties, and going from one point to another was well-organized, needed ingredients just appearing thanks to ladies in the kitchen, so it didn't take that long. I also enjoyed flipping pancakes competition, and beauty of this location. One can take the food away in the box.

I highly recommend. Wayan is very friendly and kind. Even though we didn't live directly in Ubud, it was no problem to pick us up somewhere else. After picking up the last people, we went to the local market, where he told us individually about the raw materials that they sell there and that we will use later. After we begged the whole market, we continued to the place where we will cook. Cooking took place on the terrace. We prepared around 8 dishes, everyone joined in and no one was left out. Everything was well thought out until the last moment. Since there were only 7 of us, and the food was plenty, they were very happy to pack what we couldn't eat with us. It's a great experience that you shouldn't miss when you're in Bali. 😃👍

We had a really nice afternoon with Wayan doing his cookingclass. He is really patience and makes the cooking a team afford, witch made it more fun. The food is delicious! Definitely recommend to do the class with Wayan!

I had no plans to learn cooking whilst in Ubud but I found Tumang Bali's Cooking Class voucher at my hostel and I was intrigued. Pak Wayan was very enthusiastic from the get-go when I planned my class. I ended up having a "private" session with him and his lovely wife. He took me to a market in the morning which depicted an old kingdom. At his cooking workshop located amidst Ubdu's lush paddy fields, he taught me how to make canang and its significance. Finally, the masterclass commenced which involved at least 10 dishes! I haven't been in the kitchen in a long time and I'm glad that I decided to with Pak Wayan. He taught me some tricks like flipping the dadar gulung! Something I never could do beforehand. He was like a cheerleader throughout the class. Hopefully, my rendition of those classic Balinese delicacies taste as good when I try at home. Thank you!
