About
Amid lush ravines and picturesque rice fields, the Campuhan Ridge Walk is one of the most popular treks in Ubud. You’ll start off the hike at the meeting point of the Wos Rivers by the historic core of this charming Bali town. Stop along the way to take in the views and recharge with some coffee overlooking the peaceful lily ponds. About three miles there and back, the trail is best enjoyed around sunrise and sunset, when temperatures are milder.
After the hike, don’t miss Ubud’s vibrant city center, where you can shop for handicrafts and visit ancient landmarks.

We got a Grab taxi from the Gana Hotel at 5.30 am and the 2.5km ride cost 45K rupees ($4.50 AUD) to the start of the trail, but I let him have a 5K rupee tip which he thanked me for. Left the wife there due to her hip issues and got a Grab motorcycle another 2.5 km to the Karsa Kafe at the usual end of the walk so I could walk mostly downhill to the start where my wife was. The 8K rupee (80c AUD) motorcycle trip was fantastic as he went real slow, as I told him to, and the last 1km of the trip was great past the rural houses down the tracks. I gave him a 2K rupee tip which he was delighted with. The actual walk itself was dissapointing and not what I expected as I had done a walk 25 years ago but it must have been the ricefield walk instead, which I shall do next time.

Central Ubud seems to be one big traffic jam with scooters having to use the footpath on many occasions. To get away Campuhan is held up as the instagramers go to place in Ubud. The walk is fairly straightforward, once you’ve found the start, which is a bit hidden from the road. It starts at a very picturesque temple and then follows a fairly graded path through the countryside for a couple of kilometres. And then surprise, surprise scooters and cars coming down the track to work on new multi-storey constructions. There are a few warungs where you can get the usual coffee and trinkets etc. who knows how long this will be worth a visit.

Pretty nice walk. The views were not as spectacular as I had hoped, but it made for a pleasant (and free) excursion. There are a number of shops selling paintings towards the end of the walk, and we found the quality of the paintings to be better than in town. We made two purchases.

Decent walk with nice views but a bit busy and overgrown ridge growth that obstructed the view. Definitely better options for walks around Ubud. Try the rice paddy walk instead

Apart from the place on the main picture, there is not much to see, it takes about 30 minutes to get from the start till the famous point with the palm tree then that’s it. You v seen it all.
It is very beautiful but it is only that spot.

This is a lovely little self guided trail that runs through rice fields and countryside that you don’t get to see if you stay in Ubud central. It’s a nice diversion from the touristy areas and there are plenty of cafes & artisan shops to stop and soak up the atmosphere.

Great walk with an amazing view. You can see the mountains, some rice terraces and fields. Also some artist shops and nice cafes along the way worth visiting.

We did the walk. We missed the entrance and kept walking. Finally returned back and found the river entrance off the main road which was probably the best part of the walk. The walk itself was nice but we did get to the end and question if this was it ?!?!?! Lots of people doing the walk. We went in the afternoon to miss the mid day heat. It’s great to be able to walk in nature in the city, but I wasn’t overly excited by the walk. Sorry (not sure who I’m saying sorry to, but I feel I should 😊)

Campuhan Ridge Walk is a beautiful and scenic walking trail located in Ubud, Bali. The trail offers stunning views of the lush greenery, rice paddies, and valleys that surround the area. It is my favourite morning activity.
The walk is about 2 kilometers long and is a relatively easy hike that is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. Along the way, there are plenty of photo opportunities and places to stop and take in the views.
One of the best times to go on the Campuhan Ridge Walk is early in the morning or late in the afternoon, as the weather is cooler and the light is perfect for taking photographs. It is also less crowded during these times, which makes for a more peaceful and enjoyable experience.
Overall, the Campuhan Ridge Walk is a must-visit attraction for anyone visiting Ubud. The stunning views and peaceful surroundings make it a perfect escape from the busy city, and it is a great way to immerse oneself in Bali's natural beauty.

Can i take my 1 year old baby here? Is the trek long and challenging? Can I take a pram/Stroller for the baby?

the treckking takes around 30 minutes non stop,if stop for pics taking, might be longer than that, not challenging, almost flat, sometimes a bit steep, but jusk ok.normally people stop around karsa cafe, and then turn back.if you want to go there, there is a stairs, but not steep.though the path quite flat, pram is not a good suggestion, but i think possible, certain part quite narrow, cuz many people,if you dont mind ,i think possible to bring your baby there, the starting point close to a temple, there is a set of stairs too.

There are stairs at the end of the walk where it turns into a street, so if you scooter is light and you can carry it over the stairs, then yes - it's possible.
The walk is not 2 hours. It's about 30 minutes depending how fast you do it.

Yes, free if walking, I was there in August and noticed cars having to pay a fee to drive closer to the village end of the ridge walk which maybe what people are referring to, I noticed that scooters and people on foot weren’t being charged. This is at the keliki village end, from Ubud you just start the walk from the temple.

Is it a steep walk? Long story short some dogs chewed my shoes beyond repair so I only have flip flop now. Is it safe to walk with only flip flop?

Hello. If I only have maybe 45 minutes to go on this walk, would it still be worthwhile? Would I just walk for about 20 minutes or so and then turn around and walk back, returning to same place near the resort and bridge?

Or you can walk the trail and have yiur driver pick you up at the end of the trail by Karsa spa. It took us about 45
minutes to walk there.
