Authentic experience that was so much more than expected!
Nov 2019
Wow- one of our favourite memories from our trip was this class. You leave feeling like family. They take you to a authentic market (not a tourist one) and show you their personal rice fields before going to their home to cook a delicious meal. You learn so much more than cooking- culture, lifestyle and their beliefs.

Even though it is in their home, it is set up nicely for a group cooking class, you just get the added benefit of learning about their lifestyle too. I would highly recommend.

Best Bali experience
Jan 2020 • Couples
If you have the time to take this cooking class, I highly recommend it. My husband and I were the only two in the class so it had more of a private class feel. We first started off going to the market where all the fruits and vegetables were explained to us. We were able to sample some of the fruits and the lady bought us delicious sweets to try. On the way back to the house we stopped at her family's rice terrace and it was interesting to see how the terraces are separated by family. Once back at the house we cooked 8 delicious dishes. They even had to go containers for the leftovers because we made so much food. A bonus is that they printed out the recipes so you can make the dishes at home.

Delicious food and great company!

We booked a cooking class following a friend’s recommendation and we were not disappointed!

We were catered for (being vegetarian) and thoroughly enjoyed learning about traditional Balinese cooking and life.

Would suggest booking a morning class as that included a trip to a local food market.

Traditional Balinese Meal
Nov 2019
This class was a lot of fun. We did the evening class and it was only the two of us. The family was warm and welcoming, we felt right at home. We made SO much food so no need to eat beforehand. The evening class doesn't do the market but we got to visit the coffee plantation instead and sample yummy coffee.

Tasty Balinese cooking!
We really enjoyed taking part in creation of an offering, learning about the Balinese home, and preparing (and eating) several delicious Balinese dishes. It was a large group and we enjoyed talking with others about their experiences while we cooked. We’d be hard pressed to say exactly what we made without looking at the recipes, but it was all delicious. We will never again take for granted how coconut oil is made!

Real good experience
Sep 2019 • Friends
Just outside of Ubud, the jambangan cooking school is located in a small kampoegn. After a visit to the local market for some ingredients you’ll transported to the location. The whole family participates in teaching you a couple of local dishes. Real good activity for half a day or so

Best afternoon in Bali!
Sep 2019 • Couples
Oh my god, this cooking class was fantastic! We literally had the best afternoon!
Made and her husband picked us up from the hotel and dropped us back again after the class. They took us to their family home and explained the tradition of their home before starting the class. We went in the afternoon and there was only two of us so we were very grateful they put the class on for us!
We don’t eat much fish so Made changed one of the recipes to chicken instead of tuna which was so thoughtful.
It’s a hands on class and afterwards you get to eat your handiwork - it was all so delicious! You get the recipes at the end so looking forward to recreating those at home!
